Natural animal bristles are hollow, so they hold moisture and dry more slowly than nylon, which means they need thorough rinsing, proper air drying, and replacing every two to three months. And because the bristles are animal hair, this is not a vegan product, and anyone with an animal hair allergy should skip it. If you want a plastic free brush without animal hair, a bamboo handle with plant based bristles is the alternative.
